John Chapman (Chappy) is a retired police Lieutenant from Northern California currently serving as a high risk security professional. Additionally he has served as a Sergeant, Field Training Officer, SWAT Operations and Training Officer and Chief Firearms Instructor. Prior to entering the law enforcement field, John worked as a private security contractor, servicing training and physical security contracts in the public and private sector. John is also experienced in the private training field, having served as the Director of Training for a large international training firm.
John has trained under some of the most demanding instructors in the world, and has successfully completed scores of patrol, advanced, tactical and instructor level firearms training courses. John is a POST and FLETC certified Firearms Instructor, Tactical Rifle Instructor, Less Lethal Munitions Instructor, SWAT Instructor, and is a POST-certified Tactical Commander.

Josh has worked in law enforcement for over 15 years. Since beginning his career he has worked in a university law enforcement setting as well as for a Sheriff’s Department and currently works for a municipal law enforcement agency in Northern California as a patrol officer and K-9 handler. His K-9 partner is a dual-purpose apprehension/ narcotics detection dog.
Josh’s patrol experience has included high-risk, rural/ mountain, and bicycle assignments. He also has practical experience in helicopter short haul/ S.T.A.B.O. operations and court security. In addition to being a California P.O.S.T. certified firearms instructor, he is also certified to teach active shooter response, incident response to terrorist bombings and conduct threat assessments. Josh is a factory certified armorer for Colt AR-15/M-4/M-16 rifles, Colt 1911 handguns and Glock handguns.
Josh has also worked as a firearms instructor and evaluator for a Northern California police academy, as well as a mobile training team instructor providing pre-deployment firearms and tactics training to the U.S. military. Josh desires to educate and train armed citizens to effectively protect themselves and their families

Troy has over twenty years of service as a United States Marine. Initially joining the Marine Corps in 1987 as an Infantryman, he has served as a Rifleman, Machine Gunner, Team Leader, Squad Leader, Special Reaction Team Member, and Scout Team Leader. He has also trained with many of the top instructors in the private firearms industry in addition to some of the leading military instructors in the world. A combat proven Marine, Troy has also served as an Instructor for Military Operations in Urban Terrain/Basic Urban Skills Training, Tactical Rifle Instructor, Combat Pistol Instructor, Convoy Instructor, Support and Stability Operations Instructor, Training Officer, and Operations Officer. He is also certified USMC Formal Schools Instructor and DoD certified Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection Officer

James is a retired Army First Sergeant after 23 years of service, with duty as Company First Sergeant, Operations Sergeant, Military Science Instructor (Southern Oregon University), Infantry Platoon Sergeant, Recon Platoon Squad Leader and ASL, and Scout. Middle East deployments include Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Egypt, with PSD experience as both a team member (Riyadh) and NCOIC (Iraq), Line Platoon Sergeant (all), and First Sergeant (Iraq). Civilian Firearms schools and trainers include Gunsite, Viking Tactics, Seattle Firearms Academy, EAG, Trident Concepts, International Training Consultants, Larry Vickers and Ken Hackathorn. A Certified NRA Pistol Instructor and Life Member, James enjoys instructing at the individual level as well as small teams.

Neal H. Olshan, Ph.D. has been a licensed psychologist for over thirty years specializing in Performance Enhancement and the psycho/physiological control of pain. He has taken his use of performance enhancement psychology as applied to professional athletes and expanded it into The Evolution of Mindset Weapons System Course ™ which is a comprehensive system for use by tactical professionals and armed citizens. He is co-developer of the first multidisciplinary outpatient pain center in the United States and is currently in private practice in Scottsdale, AZ. He is a consultant to the Arizona Superior Court, Maricopa County and the developer of the Boost Performance System that is an award winning app for the iPhone™, iPad™, and iPod Touch™. Dr. Olshan has been the featured guest on national television and radio shows discussing behavioral psychology and performance enhancement and has been featured in such publications as: Time, Newsweek, New York Times, LA Times, Cosmopolitan, Sports Illustrated, Psychology Today and National Geographic. He is the author of seven non- fiction books. Neal Olshan is an internationally ranked motor glider pilot with the Federation Aeronautique Internationale and an international award-winning photographer.

Jason has over thirteen years of law enforcement experience with 7 of those years being assigned to SWAT. Jason is a certified Armorer for Glock handguns and the AR-15 series rifle. Jason's past assignments consist of Department Range Master, Gang Detective, Tactical Baton Instructor and Taser Instructor. Jason left Law Enforcement from 2011 to 2013 and served as a High Threat Diplomatic Security Professional which included an assignment as a member of the U.S. Ambassador's Protection Detail in Baghdad, Iraq.
Jason has a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and worked as a firearms instructor from 2003 to 2010 for a Northern California P.O.S.T. Police Academy. Along with Jason's firearms experience, Jason also helped to create his last agency's Gang Unit and is currently an Executive Board Member for the Northern California Gang Investigators Association.
Prior to Jason's Law Enforcement career, he served as a Weapon Squad Team Leader with the 3/504 PIR (Parachute Infantry Regiment) with the 82nd Airborne Division where he was also tasked with teaching tactics and being a firearms instructor. With Jason's past experience and training he has taught firearm skills to novice firearm handlers at the police academy as well as to seasoned soldiers, contractors and law enforcement professionals.

Kris serves as our Director of Womens training, developing and delivering courses which blend the disciplines of shooting, mindset and situational awareness, specifically tailored to the needs of both new and experienced women shooters. Growing up in a family of military and law enforcement veterans, Kris developed an interest and aptitude for firearms and self defense at a young age. Kris is a graduate of numerous EAG Tactical and LMS Defense courses, including the LMS Instructor Development Program, and is a graduate of the CSI Law Enforcement Program / Police Academy. A firearms instructor since 2010, Kris has dedicated her professional life to educating women in the use of firearms and defensive tactics for family and personal defense. In addition to teaching for LMS Defense, Kris shares her experience with new shooters as a guest host on World of Beretta TV.

Colby has over 10 years experience in the combat arms community on active duty in both the U.S. Army and U.S. Marine Corps. He left the service honorably as a staff NCO and held multiple leadership billets from Fire Team and Squad Leader to Platoon Sergeant. Colby is now a Firefighter / Paramedic with a large southern Nevada Fire Dept.

Kenny has studied a variety of disciplines including boxing, wrestling, Jujitsu (the gentle way), Taser and impact weapons. He has over 30 years LE instructor experience. As part of his LE experience he has received certification from the FBI and the State of California as a weaponless defense instructor. As part of this certification study included ground fighting, weapon retention, weapon take away, and knife defense. Kenny also has state certification in a variety of impact weapons that include straight stick, ASP baton, side handle baton and short billi. Kenny's students have been from both the patrol/SWAT and jail sides of the industry. He has also trained LE volunteer staff.
Kenny began his career as a deputy assigned to the jail. He was promoted to a position on patrol after approximately two years. After less than a year he went to the Hill patrol as a Resident Deputy. His assignment post was on the Tahoe National Forest where he resides today. He was promoted to Sergeant 26 years ago, and recently retired as a Sergeant. He was assigned to Search and Rescue and Technical Rescue Team early in his career. While there, he became a recovery diver, white water technician, and gained high and low angle rope experience that included rescue work from helicopters. Along with certification as a diver, white water tech he is a graduate of the National Search and Rescue school and the States Search Mangement course. His team has been recognized by State OES and the Oceanid Co. for services in flood and in white water rescue.

Kevin is a former Noncommissioned Officer (NCO) from the 75th Ranger Regiment. He served as a Machine Gunner, Grenadier, and Fire Team Leader. Kevin’s military education includes completion of Ranger School, SERE Level C, SOT, and the Jumpmaster course. Kevin works to stay current and continues to develop and refine his shooting skills. His civilian firearm training includes operator and instructor level courses with 10-8 Consulting, Bennie Cooley (CRTC), the Surefire Institute, EAG, TMACS INC, Way of the Gun, among others. He is also an NRA certified Range Safety Officer. Kevin has assisted in the planning and execution of pre-deployment training for various military units as well as provided instruction in small arms employment and tactics. Kevin works as a firefighter in the Pacific Northwest and serves as a medic for an area SWAT team.

Woody is a Retired US Army Master Sergeant with Combat experience in both Desert Shield/Storm and Iraq during OIF. He has completed US Army Ranger School, Sniper School, and the Jumpmaster Course. While in the US Infantry he conducted Combat Operations and also trained and advised an Iraqi Police Brigade. Following his Military career Woody served as a Designated Defensive Marksman and PSD Team member protecting Dept of State and Corp of Engineer personnel in both Iraq and Afghanistan, and continues to do so. Woody is an NRA Lifetime member, and enjoys training as well as teaching.
John "Doc" Spears
Specialty Courses: Night Precision Engagement, Shoothouse, TCCC/CLS
John “Doc” Spears is a former 18 Delta Special Operations Medic and sniper who served in the 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne), now serving as a Weapons and Tactics instructor for LMS Defense.
He has worked in counter-insurgency/ counter narco-terrorism and interdiction projects throughout Central and South America. He specializes in small unit tactics and sniper operations and is a master shoothouse instructor.
He is a board certified orthopedic and spine surgeon and also teaches Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) and Combat Lifesaver (CLS) courses for tactical operators.

Brent has over 17 year’s law enforcement experience for a municipal law enforcement agency in south central Idaho. Brent has worked as a Patrol Officer, Traffic Officer, Field Training Officer, and Narcotics Detective. A SWAT Entry Team Operator since 2007, Brent currently serves as a Patrol Sergeant and SWAT Team Leader.
In addition to being a POST certified pistol, shotgun and patrol rifle instructor, Brent is a POST certified active shooter instructor, firearms simulator instructor and has been certified as a less lethal munitions, chemical munitions and distraction device munitions instructor. Brent has also trained extensively with several nationally known firearms and tactics instructors, and works to continuously improve his knowledge, skills and abilities.
Brent enjoys teaching and is an adjunct professor at a local community college. In addition to being the primary firearms instructor, he also teaches other various law enforcement subjects in the POST approved Law Enforcement Program.

Daniel has been in law enforcement for over 10 years. During this time he has worked for a large Sheriff’s department. He has been assigned to detention, courts, patrol, S.W.A.T. and is currently a Rangemaster.
Daniel has numerous firearms and tactics certifications, to include: handgun, shotgun, carbine, less lethal, force on force, low light tactics, as well as basic and advanced S.W.A.T. schools.
Daniel is also a certified armorer for Glock, Colt, Sig Sauer, Remington, Springfield, and 1911’s.
Specialty Courses: Precision Carbine/Rifle
Dan has over 30 years of experience in the precision rifle discipline, including service in the US Army as an infantry rifleman and sniper. Since 1992, he has been employed by various client companies and agencies across the U.S. and 20 other countries in positions such as professional firearms trainer, combat developer, and security specialist. He has instructed military special operations and infantry units, federal, state, and local law-enforcement, thousands of civilian shooters, and has taught numerous leadership development courses at state colleges and private universities.
Dan's private research has yielded advanced ballistics calculation methods and predictive algorithms, aiming calculations, and data collection methods and maintenance procedures. He consults extensively for several major US defense contractors in their development of new equipment and weapon systems, and is himself the inventor of the Helo Spider™ weapon rigging system for helicopter deployment of snipers, and the HeloSOF© aerial gunnery methodology. He has designed 2 state-of-the-art sniper simulation trainers for the SOF community, including the Special Operations Advanced Sniper Simulator (SOASS) for the Special Forces Sniper School at Ft Bragg, North Carolina. Dan has served as a subject matter expert for the US Army Sniper School, and Infantry Center, and provides instructor development training for many US and allied military schools in advanced marksmanship and helicopter sniper employment.

Edgar has been training for over 10 years in various self-defense systems and martial arts, including Krav Maga, Filipino Martial Arts, Brazilian Jujitsu, Muay Thai, and Boxing. He is a Krav Maga Black Belt and certified Vanguard Krav Maga® instructor. Edgar has supplemented his martial skills with lethal and non-lethal training through completion of his CDT Non-Lethal Force Certification as well as comprehensive firearms courses with several firearms training organizations. In 2013, Edgar opened the Academy of Combative Defense and Fitness to get more citizens trained in the art of self defense. Edgar continues to attend self-defense and firearms training seminars/clinics to strengthen and refine his skill sets.
